Stack Tower guide
How the slicing works, how to chain perfect drops and how to keep your tower wide as the blocks speed up.
How Stack Tower works
Each new floor starts as a block sliding back and forth above the tower. Tap to drop it. The part that lands on the floor below stays; anything hanging over the edge is sliced off and falls away. The next block is only as big as what you kept, so small mistakes add up.
Your score is the number of floors. The game ends when a block misses the tower completely.
Controls
- Phone and tablet: tap anywhere on the screen.
- Computer: click, or press Space, Enter or ↓.
- Music: turn it on or off in the menu, or press M.
Perfect drops and streaks
If you drop a block almost exactly on top of the one below, it snaps into place, nothing is sliced off and you see Perfect. Chain three or more perfect drops in a row and every further perfect drop grows the block a little, back towards its original full size. A single imperfect drop resets the streak.
How the difficulty rises
- The blocks alternate direction every floor: left to right, then front to back.
- The sliding speed rises with every floor until it reaches a top speed at around 60 floors.
- The very first block starts closer and ignores taps for a moment, so an early tap won’t end the game.
Tips for a taller tower
- Watch the leading edge of the moving block line up with the edge of the tower, not the centre.
- Tap a little earlier as the speed rises. Your reaction time stays the same while the block gets faster.
- Build perfect streaks in the first 20 floors, while the block is slow, to bank width for later.
- If the block has become thin, slow down your rhythm and aim for the middle: a narrow block can still go a long way.
- The direction swaps every floor, so reset your eyes to the new axis before each tap.
FAQ
What counts as a perfect drop?
A drop that lines up with the block below within a very small margin. It snaps into place and nothing is sliced off.
Can the block get bigger again?
Yes. After three perfect drops in a row, every further perfect drop grows the block back towards full size.
Does Stack Tower get faster?
Yes. The block slides faster with every floor until it reaches its top speed.
Is there a time limit?
No. Take as long as you like for each drop.
